General Housing FAQs
What lease terms are available to students?
(Fall) Academic Year or (Spring) Semesterly
鈥婥an I move in during the semester?
You can move in during the semester, depending on availability!
鈥婥an I cancel my lease agreement after I sign it?
All cancellation requests need to be made in writing; no verbal requests will be accepted.
A decision will be made after the cancellation request is received.
鈥婭f you have signed the contract, you will be held to the cancellation policy as stated in your lease agreement.
鈥婬ow do I submit maintenance requests?
You can submit your maintenance requests through a QR Code in your room.
鈥婣re there housing options for non-students?
We do have limited availability for non-students! During the Summer Term only!
鈥婣re children allowed?
Children are only allowed within the Married and Family Community.
鈥婣re pets allowed?
No, we are not a pet-friendly community. Currently there is a strict no pets policy within Student Housing. Any Service animals or ESA requests are subject to approval by the Student Disability Resources Coordinator for the college.
When will I receive confirmation of housing?
You will receive an email confirmation following receipt of the application. Placement will be guaranteed in a following email shortly after a deposit is paid.
When will I receive housing accommodations assignment?
Assignments are guaranteed upon payment of your Housing Deposit. You room assignment will be given to you on the day of your Check-in Arrival.
Can I live with my friends?
Yes! You can live with your friends as long as availability permits! Be sure to list them on your application. All applicants will need to pay their deposit for better odds of placement.
鈥婭s GBC Housing Co-ed?
No, we do not have co-ed facilities here at GBC. You must be married to reside in Family Housing. Married and Family Housing is subject to a first come first serve waitlist.
What is roommate matching and how does it work?
You will be able to fill out a questionnaire on your living styles and answer how you would like your roommate to answer as well.
When do I meet my roommates?
Roommate information is sent out up to two weeks before the official move in dates.
Financial Related FAQs
Where do I make my payment?
If you are a GBC Student, you will make your payment either through your MyGBC Portal
or through the Controller鈥檚 Office on campus.
If you are a Staff Member or non-GBC student, you will make your payment to through
the Controller鈥檚 Office on campus.
鈥婭s there a deposit?
Yes, and payment must be made before move-in.
Griswold Hall $250 deposit
College Parkway Apartments $350 deposit
Married/Family Apartments have a $500 deposit
Your deposit will be refunded to your student account upon checkout.
鈥婭s there an application fee?
$50 fee.
鈥媁hen are housing installments due?
On the 15th of each month.
鈥婥an I use financial aid or scholarships to pay for my housing installments?
Yes! Once your financial aid or scholarship money is distributed, it will be applied to all tuition and university fees first, then any remaining money can be applied to housing.
