Meeting minutes are listed below. Please note the upcoming deadline for both sabbatical and tenure applications. The deadline for sabbatical and tenure applications is October 27, 2016. Tenure applications are to be delivered to Janie Moore. GBC Personnel Committee Meeting Minutes September 16, 2016 Present: Absent: Lisa Campbell, Pete Bagley, Xunming Du, Matt Nichols, Mardell Wilkins Ken Pope (excused)Next meeting:October 7, 2016The Personnel Committee meeting began with introductions of members. A few members returned to the committee from the previous year. A review ensued of GBC Personnel Committee duties. Handouts of the Professional Recruitment Guidelines, and Sabbatical/Tenure procedures were distributed and reviewed. Vice President Sibert provided a review of Professional Recruitment procedures, including the Affirmative Action statement and appropriate interview questions. A member of the Personnel Committee must serve on each professional recruitment search committee. Recent or upcoming position recruitments include Instrumentation, Electrical Systems Technology, Advisor, Recruiter and CNA Coordinator. Mardell Wilkins agreed to serve on the Recruiter search committee. Sabbatical and tenure applications will be due this year on October 27, 2016. Emeritus applications will be due on March 31, 2017. An email will be sent out to all staff with a link to forms and a note of the deadline. Janie Moore was suggested as a collection point for the applications as the Chair is located away from the main campus. A committee meeting will be set in November to review applications. Old business carried over from the previous year includes unfinished business with the mentoring policy. It was encouraged to review information with previous Personnel Chair Tami Mette. Faculty Senate Chair John Rice also suggested new business for the Personnel Committee to review faculty orientation. These items to be discussed at upcoming committee meetings.
