ࡱ> *,)_ bjbj .>\>\22  0$v??T U@d  j0,??2> p: Action Item for Faculty Senate, Friday, Oct. 23rd, 2015 Establishing the New Weights for the Faculty Evaluation Written Report: The Faculty Evaluation committee has been meeting every week since school started to work on the new evaluation. We are very close to being done; there are only a few changes we need to make. To accomplish this, starting the week of Oct. 26th, we will be sending out the teaching role so all faculty can look at it and comment by Oct. 29th. After this time, comments will be closed. We will repeat this process of sending out a new role every week until all four roles have been reviewed by faculty. During this same period of time, we will be meeting with Administration to review all comments that we receive. I cant guarantee that all requests for changes will be made, but I guarantee they will be considered and discussed. This process should be completed before the next Faculty Senate at which time the entire evaluation will be presented for a vote. We had very few faculty members attend the meeting last week where the new evaluation was explained, but those faculty members who did attend gave excellent feedback. We are really trying to give all faculty members the opportunity to see the evaluation and comment on it but soon it will be complete and, at the time, comments will be too late. This last Friday, we discussed IDEA scores. The administration gave a very convincing argument to use the average IDEA score in the evaluation because it would bring on-line and live teaching scores closer to each other but, when the committee looked at this more closely, we discovered this would lower faculty members total scores. So, the committee recommends using the IDEA raw score because it is the higher of the two scores.
