Assessment Measure: Discussion 1, Zappos Case Study, Strengthen your Skills 1, and Exam 1 Criterion for achievement: Students will achieve 70% or better on the assignment. Results: Discussion 1 had 100% participation with an average score of 86.5% The Zappos Case study on deciding a new direction for the company had all but 6 students participating, with an average score of 87.4% Strengthen Your Skills #1 exercise had students assessing their own skills as a leader. The average score was 89.0% with all but 1 student participating. Exam 1 had 3 students not participating and an average score of 86.22% Criterion Met: Yes1. Results Analysis: Overall, I have been pleased with the students results of this class. MGT 201 had major revisions in the Spring 2018 semester and the students results indicate that they are getting the concept of management issues and challenges. 2. Action Plan: No changes are planned at this time. The Zappos Case was new this semester. It appears it allows students to manage the company and set a course of direction better than the previous Apple case. Outcome #2: Understand the importance of the Planning and Organizing as managerial functionsAssessment Measure: Discussion 2, Zappos Case Study, and Exam 2 and 3. Criterion for achievement: Students will achieve 70% or better on the assignment.Results: Discussion 2 had all but 1 student participating with an average score of 86.0 % The Zappos Case study on deciding a new direction for the company had all but 6 students participating, with an average score of 87.4% Exam 2 had all but 1 student participating and an average score of 82.25% Exam 3 had all but 1 student participating and an average score of 85.13% Criterion Met: Yes 1. Results Analysis: The students performed well on the assignments and were able to articulate the reasons for planning and organization. Many spoke in the discussion about the need for planning and organization skills in doing their class work. 2. Action Plan: Because of the recent overhaul of the class no changes are planned at this time. Outcome #3: Understand the importance of Influencing and Control as managerial functionsAssessment Measure: Discussion 3, Strengthen your Skills 2, Exam 4 and 5, Zappos Case Study, and 12 Angry Men Film Study Criterion for achievement: Students will achieve 70% or better on the assignments.Results: Discussion 3 had 4 students not participating. The students participating had an average score of 81.9% Strengthen your skills case #2 was difficult for the students, the average score was 80.06%. Ten students did not participate. * The Zappos Case study on deciding a new direction for the company had all but 6 students participating, with an average score of 87.4% The 12 Angry Men Film Study had All but 5 students participating with an average score of 95.5% Exam 4 had all but 4 students participating and an average score of 86.57% Exam 5 had all but 3 students participating and an average score of 74.16% Criterion Met: Yes1. Results Analysis: This class did an exceptional job on the Film Study. This is the key semester assignment because it allows the students to apply their learning on managements influence and control. This assignment is the only item that has remained from the old class. 2. Action Plan: *The strengthen your skills case was difficult, deciding on key performance indicators for an airline. This required them to do extra work and frankly I think they looked at the assignment and gave up. While I am not deleting the assignment, I will be adding to the directions. This will help the students prepare for the concept of how to change the sample companys customer service direction.
