This is a S/U graded course. Results: 1.All 16 practicum students received 3s (proficient) and 4s (exceptional) on their evaluation rubrics completed by the lead teachers. 2. All 16 practicum students taught a minimum of 3 lessons in their classrooms and received satisfactory ratings and specific feedback for improvement. 3.All 16 practicum students completed a portfolio artifact with a satisfactory rating and specific feedback for improvement. Criterion Met: Yes/NoResults Analysis: Students met outcome. Action Plan: Continue to incorporate book study assignments to help student teachers collect specific strategies to implement in their lessons. Continue to involve lead teachers in the lesson and practicum evaluation process with the InTASC standards. Look at creating a video explaining the InTASC standards and GBC expectations to share with lead teachers as we do not meet live with supervising teachers of our practicum students. Bring in additional guest speakers related to the practical application of classroom practices. Continue building a portfolio artifact and meeting via ZOOM to give the practicum student informal feedback so the artifact creation process is familiar before starting student teaching.Outcome #2: Students will define and demonstrate ethical practices and professional learning.Assessment Measure: 1.Evaluation rubric 2.Lesson reflections 3.Portfolio artifact 4.Reading reflections Criterion for achievement: Satisfactory completion of each assignment. Criterion Met: Yes/NoResults Analysis: Students met outcome. Action Plan: See action plan for Outcome #1. Notes: This semester had many highlights and successes for the 315 practicum students. For our book study this semester, we had a 45-minute presentation from the author, Dave Burgess. He discussed his book Teach Like a Pirate and described some of the hook strategies our student would read about this semester. They students we motivated by his presentation and tried many ways to implement the teachings of his text into their lessons. We also pulled a chapter from our book Conscious Classroom Management to study as a lead into the importance of creating engaging lesson in the classroom. Both pieces of book study gave our practicum students hands on ways to increase student engagement in the classroom. I want to find other ways to incorporate guest speakers into our practicum courses, so our GBC students hear more ideas to use in their classroom lessons.
