Assessment Measure: 1. Teacher Interview 2. Practicum Rubric Criterion for achievement: 95% of students complete the activity for this S/U graded practicum class.Results: All 13 students turned in their rubric and completed a teacher interview reflection. Criterion Met: Yes1. Results Analysis: This is the first practicum for our Elementary Education students. They enjoyed spending at least 8 hours in the classroom with a lead teacher. The experience is motivating for all the students according to the reflection in the teacher interview. 2. Action Plan: The Spring 2020 EDEL 311 students were not able to spend 8 hours in the classroom like the Fall 2019 EDEL 311 students due to the COVID 19 shutdown. They were able to complete the hours in a virtual/distance learning observation model. They were able to conduct a teacher interview. Starting with the EDEL 311 class in the Fall of 2020, we will need to determine a more structured observation protocol for online observations if schools are shut down again. We also need to have more hands online-modules and back up lead teachers in semesters where there is a crisis like COVID 19 again in our schools. We will be working on this over the summer. Outcome #2: InTASC #9 Professional Learning and Ethical Practice-Students will discuss current expectations and issues related to education with local administrators of the public schools.Assessment Measure: 1. School Visits and School Climate Comparison Paper Criterion for achievement: 95% of students complete the activity for this S/U graded practicum class.Results: 1. All 13 students attended school visits and completed a school climate comparison paper. Criterion Met: Yes/No1. Results Analysis: This is the first practicum for our Elementary Education students. They enjoyed spending the 4 hours in the classrooms at Adobe Middle School and Southside Elementary in large and small group observations. The experience is motivating for all the students according to the reflections paper and personal statements during the end of observation debriefing meetings at each school. 2. Action Plan: The Spring 2020 EDEL 311 students were able to spend 4 hours in the classroom at Adobe Middle School and Mountain View Elementary Starting with the EDEL 311 class in the Fall of 2020, we will need to determine a back up plan for school observations if schools are closed or if they are limiting visitors.
